Betty Joel Wardrobe
The wardrobet: An English Art Deco / Modernist wardrobe designed by Betty Joel and hand made at the Token works in 1938 (labelled). Constructed in well figured West African cherry mahogany with a cedar wood interior. Original metalware and a working lock with key.

Condition: Offered in very good refinished condition. Some minor imperfections and indentations to the sides.

Dimensions: Width 36", depth 22" & height 72".

Arts & Crafts Cotswold School Oak Sideboard
The sideboard: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold School oak low sideboard after Peter Waals c.1930. Exceptional cabinetry. A bank of four drawers flanked either side by shelved cupboards with handles that turn to lock the doors in place. Constructed in solid well figured quarter sawn oak.

Condition: Offered in excellent condition. Original finish revived maintaining patina.

Set of Six Arts & Crafts Ash Clissett Chairs
The chairs: A set of 6 ash 'Clissett' rush seated chairs. Designed by Ernest Gimson after Philip Clissett c.1904 and probably made by Edward Gardiner during the 1920s. Turned & pegged construction with scored lines to indicate the position of the joints.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition. These chairs will be cleaned & waxed prior to delivery.

Dimensions: Seat height 17.5", back height 34.5" and width 18.5".

Brynmawr Oak Sideboard
The sideboard: An Arts & Crafts oak sideboard designed by by Paul Matt for Brynmawr Furniture c.1930. Two central drawers over a small shelved cupboard flanked either side by cupboards with a single shelf and internal drawer. Well figured quarter sawn oak with raised and bevelled panels with square wedge shaped handles fixed in place with exposed pegs.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.

Heal's Library "Book" Chair
The chair: A Heal's oak library "book" chair dating c.1930. The chair has a bookcase one side, a drop leaf table the other and a reclining back.

Condition: Offered in excellent condition. Frames refinished and cushions re-upholstered in a moss green woven check fabric. The seat cushion is the original sprung cushion and the back cushion is a new replacement.

Dimensions: Width 28.5" or 40.5" with the table up. Depth 32" upright to 45" fully reclined. Back height 28.5"

The tables: A pair of Arts & Crafts Cotswold School refectory dining tables made by Reynolds of Ludlow for Heal's. Constructed from well figured solid oak in the Cotswold School tradition with chamfered edges and dowelled joints.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.

Dimensions: Each table stands 28.5" tall, 54" wide and 30" deep. Placed together, end to end, they can make a table 108" in length.

Set of Six Arts & Crafts Ash Clissett Chairs
The chairs: A composite set of 6 (4+2) ash 'Clissett' rush seated chairs. Designed by Ernest Gimson after Philip Clissett c.1904. Two (one shown on the right) show turned & pegged construction with scored lines to indicate the position of the joints and were probably made by Edward Gardiner during the 1920's. The four (one shown on the left) are stamped by Neville Neal (apprentice to Gardiner).

Condition: Shown prior to being re-polished and re-rushed.

Heals Oak Compactum Wardrobe
The wardrobe: A substantial compactum wardrobe by Heals dating from circa 1928. The central triple wardrobe is shown in the Heals catalogue of 1928. Its simple design and reflects the strong influence of Ambrose Heal. The flanking banks of drawers were probably a special commission, there The left hand door reveals a stack of four shelves and the pair of doors to the right open to reveal a hanging rail and shoe rack. The whole piece breaks down into five main components for ease of movement.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition. We can offer this piece refinished - please contact us for details and prices.
