Arts & Crafts Cotswold Style Bureau by Brynmawr Furniture
The bureau: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold Style oak bureau designed by Paul Matt for Brynmawr Furniture c.1930. Constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak with a generous fall front desk over an arrangement of three over two drawers. The bureau is stylised with stepped and bevelled panels and wedge shaped handles held in place with exposed pegs.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.

Dimensions: Width 33", Height 42" and depth 19.5" closed, 32" open. When open, the desk top area is approx 31.5" wide by 22" deep. When the fall front is closed, there is an area 29.75" wide, 18.75" deep and 1.75" high for the storage of laptops and similar.

Cotswold Style Oak Chest of Drawers / Bookcase by Brynmawr Furniture
The chest: A Cotswold Style breakfront chest of drawers / bookcase designed by Paul Matt for Brynmawr Furniture c.1930. A central bank of four drawers flanked by open bookcases with fixed (removable) shelves. Constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak with stepped or bevelled fielded panels and distinctive wedge shaped handles.

Heal's Cotswold Style Oak Compactum Wardrobe

The bookcase: An Art Deco / Modernist limed oak, on laurel wood base, asymmetric bookcase by Heal's dating c.1933. No label but this bookcase is illustrated in the Heal's 1933 catalogue as part of the "Weathered oak sitting room".

Heal's "Tilden" Limed Oak Extending Dining Table
The table: A limed oak extending dining table by Heal's c.1930. This table is a variant of the design by Ambrose Heal & Philip Tilden for Churchill's Chartwell home. The table extends by a draw-leaf mechanism.

Condition: Offered in very good condition.

Dimensions: The table top stands 30" high, 30" deep and either 42" closed or 72" in length fully extended.

Heal's Oak Sectional Bookcase
The Bookcase: An oak sectional bookcase by Heal's c.1930. No label but this bookcase is illustrated in the Heal's General catalogue. The bookcase comprises three sections: One deep base section and two shallower top sections. The later each with an adjustable shelf.

Condition: Shown prior to restoration. Offered fully restored and refinished.

Dimensions: The bookcase stands 68.5" tall, 34.5" wide and 11" deep (at the base).

Pair of Arts & Crafts Clissett Ash Armchairs
The chairs: A pair of ash 'Clissett' rush seated armchairs. Designed by Ernest Gimson after Philip Clissett c.1904. Turned & pegged construction with scored lines to indicate the position of the joints and were probably made by Edward Gardiner during the 1920's.

We also have a set of six matchng 'Clissett' side chairs available.

Condition: Shown prior to restoration. Offered in excellent condition: re-polished and re-rushed.

Dimensions: Seat height 17.5", back height 34" and width 23" (maximum).

Arts & Crafts Oak Hall Seat / Bench Settle
The settle; An Arts & Crafts oak hall seat / bench settle attributed to William Lethaby for Liberty & Co circa 1900. Dowelled panel back. There are ying-yang cut outs to the top of each of the rear uprights.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition. We can offer to refinish this item to a more golden oak colour - please contact us for details. we also have the original seat cushion with (very worn) original covering - we can offer to have this re-upholstered in your fabric - again please contact us for details.

Dimensions: Width 44", depth 21", overall height 45" and seat height 17". The seat cushion would add approx 2.5" to the seat height.

Heal's Limed Oak Bookcase Cabinet
The bookcase: A limed oak glazed bookcase cabinet by Heal's c.1930. Labelled. Two sliding glass doors to two removable shelves over a two door cupboard base with contrasting walnut plinth. Walnut cross banding detail to the cornice, along with facetted edges and stepped detail give this piece a true quality feel.

Heal's Art Deco Burr Maple "Compactum" Wardrobe
The Wardrobe: An English Art Deco burr maple wardrobe by Heal's c.1930. Spectacular burr maple veneers with a contrasting walnut plinth. Smaller than typical wardrobes and ideal for awkward spaces. The wardrobe is part fitted with two drawers and a number of open shelfs. There is a good practical hanging area with a side to side hanging rail. The wardrobe has its original chromed handles, locking bolts and working lock and key.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.
