The chair: An Arts & Crafts oak tub chair retailed by Liberty & Co as the "Stanmore" chair and is illustrated in the Yuletide gifts catalogue of 1900 .

Condition: Offered in very good original condition. The drop-in rush seat has been re-rushed in recent years and is in excellent order.

Dimensions: Width 20", depth 18", seat height 17" and back height 30".

Pair of Arts & Crafts Corner Chairs
The chairs: A pair of Arts & Crafts rush seated corner chairs attributed to William Birch of High Wycombe dating c.1900.

Condition: Shown prior to restoration, these chairs are offered fully restored: Frames tightened,polished and seats re-rushed.

Dimensions: Seat height 16", back height 27.5". The seat is 16" square. The diagonal depth is 22.5" and the diagonal width is 24".

Arts & Crafts Oak Writing Table / Desk
The desk: An arts & Crafts oak writing table / desk dating circa 1900. The desk has a distinctive overhanging top with shaped brackets, over a single drawer, subtle reverse tapering legs terminating in flaired feet. This is a quality example constructed with selected cuts of quarter sawn oak. The center, tooled leather, section of the top pulls out to reveal a raising stationary rack.

Condition: Shown prior to being refinished to a golden oak colour. This desk is offered in excellent refinished condition.

Art Deco / Modernist Bookcase Cabinet by P.E. Gane
The bookcase: An Art Deco / Modernist walnut bookcase cabinet probably designed by J.P. Hulley for P.E. Gane of Bristol (labelled) c.1935. Marcel Bruer was P.E. Gane's design consultant 1935 -37 and his Modernist / Bauhaus influences are clearly visible here. The bookcase has an asymmetric arrangement of shelves, cabinets and a single drawer. (Note: P.E. Gane made a number of pieces that were retailed by Heal's)

Condition: Offered in very good refinished condition.

Heal's Oak Chest of Drawers
The chest: An oak chest of 2 over 3 drawers by Heal & Son c.1925. Constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak.

Condition: Offered in very good refinished condition.

The chest may have been altered at point of purchase or possibly later. This chest stands 6" shorter than other chests of the identical design. Heal's were well known at this time for altering items to customer requirements and it is quite feasible that any alteration was done by them.

The bookcases: A matched pair of open bookcases by Heal's c.1910. No label but these bookcases are illustrated in the Heal's cottage furniture catalogue. Constructed in solid well figured quarter sawn oak.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.

Dimensions: Each bookcase stands 47" tall, 15" wide and 6.5" deep. The shelf heights are (from the bottom up): 9", 8.5", 8.5" and 7.75".

The tables: A nest of three oak occasional side tables constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak attributed to Gordon Russell c.1925. Heal's Cotswold Style Pine Compactum Wardrobe
The wardrobe: A Cotswold Style small compactum wardrobe attributed to Heal & Son c.1915. Constructed in solid pine with raised panels, dovetails (front & back) to drawers and exposed dovetails to the top. This is an exceptionally well made piece. Original (working) lock and key to the wardrobe section.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition. Plenty of character to evidence its age. The cabinetry remains firm and solid with no evidence of any significant damage or repair. The wardrobe and cabinet door operation remains crisp and the drawers run very smoothly.

Dimensions: Width 36", depth 17" and height 60"
