Heals Oak Tilden Dining Table
The table: An oak dining table designed by the architect Philip Tilden in collaboration with Ambrose Heal for Winston Churchill's Chartwell residence c.1922 and made by Heal & Son c.1925. This table has been in the same family since it was purchased new from Heal's during the 1920's and where it has been used as an Archeologists desk.

Betty Joel Walnut "Ashton" Dining Table
The table: A Modernist / Art Deco walnut dining table designed by Betty Joel and made by A. Buckingham in 1935 at the Token Works. The table is labelled and it also appears in Betty Joel catalogues as the "Ashton" table. Constructed in solid, well figured, Australian (Queensland) walnut sat upon solid rosewood feet. This stunning table would also make a fine writing table / desk.

The table: An Arts & Crafts, Cotswold School oak refectory dining table by Gordon Russell c.1930. This table is beautifully constructed in solid English oak, with octagonal legs joined by sledge feet and a stretcher. Provenance: Formally a school (near Cambridge) refectory table.

Condition: Offered in very good condition: Structurally sound; base cleaned and waxed; top refinished maintaining its bleached appearance and some character.

Heal's Limed Oak Draw Leaf Kitchen Dining Table
The table: A limed oak draw leaf extending kitchen dining table by Heal's c.1930. Labelled. Constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak with classic turned supports. The table can be used in three different lengths.

Condition: Offered in very good refinished condition. The limed finish has been lost to the top but is still evident to the base. There are a couple of fine linear shadow marks which show when the table top is extended.

Dimensions: The table stands 30" high, 30" deep and either 41", 56.' or 71" in length.

Heal's Limed Oak Circular Dining / Breakfast Table
The table: An Arts & Crafts circular limed oak breakfast / dining table by Heal's. No label but this is a slightly larger model than that shown in the 1918 Heal's Cottage Furniture catalogue. Constructed in solid well figured quarter sawn oak.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition. The base has its original limed oak finish which has been simply cleaned and waxed. The top has been bleached out over time - we have cleaned this back and waxed it although there are still some minor marks but nothing to detract (please see the images).

Dimensions: The table top stands 30" high and 45" in diameter.

Substantial Heal's Art Deco Walnut Parquetry Dining Table
The table: An English Art Deco walnut parquetry top dining table by Heal's c.1925. The walnut is a wonderful light golden colour. The top is made up of geometric parquet work. This table was designed to comfortably sit 8 persons. There is a plate glass top for this table (not shown). I also have a matching set of 8 dining chairs and a sideboard available separately.

A Substantial Art Deco Extending Dining Table
The table: A substantial Art Deco extending dining table dating c.1930. Designer & maker are unknown but this is a fine quality piece. Constructed using bur walnut with madagascan ebony cross banding. The table extends by means of two draw leaves to achieve a very impressive table.

Arts & Crafts Liberty & Co "Tudor" Fumed Oak Centre Table
The table: An Arts & Crafts fumed oak "Tudor" table by Edwin T. Hall and Edwin S. Hall for Liberty & Co c.1924. A rectangular planked top with moulded edge, later inset with a brass meter rule, pegged bracket supports and broad apron incorperating an aperture for a single drawer (lacking), raised on tapered and chamfered supports with pierced decorative panels in a geometric tear shaped design, linked by a spirally fluted stretcher with incised ends. Stamped "6962" and later paper label "Scarves Regent St."

Condition: Offered in very good (Refinished) condition. The table retains good patina.

Dimensions: 152.5cm in length, 75.5cm wide and 76cm high.

Provinance: Made circa 1924 for Liberty & Co's magnificent Tudor building on Great Marlborough Street. Designed by Edwin Thomas Hall and his son Edwin Stanley Hall and constructed from the timbers of two men-of-war battleships: HMS Impregnable and HMS Hindustan. The table is part of a range of furniture made for the rooms and galleries to display the textiles, clothes and luxury goods the shop was so famous for. All were made in the sixteenth century style, with pegged construction and decorative details complementing the design details of the building. All the furniture was made in the firm's workshops in Highgate and demonstrate the same high levels of craftsmanship and attention to detail as the building itself.

Huge Arts & Crafts Walnut Wind-Out Extending Dining Table by Maple & Co
The table: A substantial (10') Arts & Crafts Gothic Revival wind-out extending dining table by Maple & Co (stamped) dating circa 1880s. Constructed in well figured solid walnut. The table top has a rounded corners with a quality moulded edge over a floating frieze and ring turned legs sat upon original brass and pottery castors. The table extends by means of a joseph fitter double winder mechanism which comes complete with three original leaves and its original winder handle.

Condition: Offered in excellent (fully restored) condition.

Dimensions: The table top stands 29" high, 53.5" wide and 118.5" in length fully extended with all three leaves inserted. Each leaf measures 16.5", 19.5" & 24" respectively.

Betty Joel Indian Laurel Extending Dining Table
The table: An Indian Laurel wood extending dining table with fluted column legs on sleigh feet with exposed dowelled construction. The table extends by means of a draw leaf at each end. The label reads: Token hand made furniture, designed by Betty Joel, made by W R Hamilton at the Token Works 1928.

Condition: offered in excellent firm and solid condition with no evidence of any significant damage or repair. Refinished.
