Arts & Crafts "Lizardman" Refectory Table & Pair of Benches
The table & benches: An Arts & Crafts refectory dining table with a pair of benches all made in English oak by Martin "Lizardman" Dutton circa 1950. Superb quarter sawn graining to the table top. Each piece is signed with a discretely carved lizard to the end support.

Provenance: this table and benches were originally made for the old Grammar School known as The Friary, Richmond, North Yorkshire. In more recent times they were used in the Lower Dining Hall and Lower Library of the Richmond School, North Yorkshire.

Martin "Lizardman" Dutton (1921-2009) of Huby, near York, was a Robert Thompson apprentice and craftsman during the 1940's. He signed his furniture by carving a lizard.

Condition: Offered in excellent restored condition. Refinished.

Dimensions: The table stands 28.5" tall, 72" in length and 29" wide. Each bench stands 17" tall, 72" in length by 11.25" deep.

Large Art Deco Gordon Russell Extending Dining Table
The table: An Art Deco 'Woburn' extending dining table designed by R.D. Russell for Gordon Russell c.1937. The table is constructed in well-figured Bombay Rosewood with inlaid elm rings to the legs. The table extends to accomodate two leaves which are stored within the table. Metal label to underside.

Condition: Shown prior to being refinished.

Dimensions: The table stands 29" high, 36" wide and 75" in length. The table will extend to 91.5" and 108" by inserting one or both leaves.

The table: An Arts & Crafts "Tre-tower" oak refectory dining table designed by Paul Matt for Brynmawr Furniture dating from the 1930s. The table is constructed in solid quarter sawn oak with excellent grain figuring to the table top.

Condition: Offered in excellent restored condition. Refinished.

Dimensions: The table top stands 30.5" tall, 34" wide and 8' in length.

Stckley Bros Arts & Crafts Oak Extending dining Table
The table: A circular Arts & Crafts (Mission) oak extending dining table by Stickley Bros of Grand Rapids c.1905. This table extends to accommodate two additional leaves. Excellent quarter sawn grain figuring.

Condition: Offered in excellent condition.

Dimensions: Height 30", Diameter 48" and length 72" with both leaves inserted.

Heal's Arts & Crafts Oak Refectory Dining Table
The table: An Arts & Crafts oak refectory dining table designed by Ambrose Heal c.1912 for Heal & Son. This example was probably made during the 1920s. Constructed in solid, well figured quarter sawn oak. This is a substantial table.

Condition: Offered in very good cleaned and waxed condition.

Heal's "Letchworth" Oak Refectory Dining Table
The table: An Arts & Crafts "Letchworth" 6' oak refectory dining table by Heal & Son circa 1905. An early and Iconic design by Ambrose Heal with a subtle A-frame stance at each end.

Condition: Offered in very good restored and refinished condition. The table top has naturally bleached over time and use and now provides a striking contrast to the base.

Dimensions: The table top stands 30" tall, 30" wide and 72" in length.

American Arts & Crafts Oak Split Pedestal Extending Dining Table
The table: An American Arts & Crafts (Mission) well figured quarter sawn oak split pedestal extending dining table. The table extends to accommodate three additional leaves. Octagonal pedestal with original locking mechanisms. Indistinct label to underside.

Condition: Shown prior to restoration. This table id offered restored and refinished. Please note that the pictures show the table without castors.

Dimensions: The table stands approx 29" high and 45" in diameter. Each of the three leaves is approx 16.5" wide which allows the table to extend to 95" in length.

The tables: A pair of Arts & Crafts Cotswold School refectory dining tables made by Reynolds of Ludlow for Heal's. Constructed from well figured solid oak in the Cotswold School tradition with chamfered edges and dowelled joints.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.

Dimensions: Each table stands 28.5" tall, 54" wide and 30" deep. Placed together, end to end, they can make a table 108" in length.
